Building a party that actually works in Ember of Ardens
It took me a couple of failed dungeons in Ember of Ardens to realize I was building my party wrong. I stacked damage and ignored turn order, and it kept costing me.
The trick is to think about who acts first. A support character that goes early can set up shields before the enemy even moves. I started leading with my slower tank and things fell apart, so I flipped it.
Crafting is worth investing in as soon as it unlocks. The gear you forge can shift your whole strategy, and I built a set that let one character tank almost everything while the others cleaned up.
Don't sleep on the positioning grid either. Back-row characters take less damage but hit softer, so I kept my mage tucked behind. Small choices like that added up across long fights.
Push through the slow opening. Once you have a full party and a few crafted pieces, Ember of Ardens becomes genuinely engaging.
